All Over Printing!

October 18th, 2009 Tommy

ShirtsForBands.com has added all over printing to it’s lineup of killer offerings for bands and musicians. If you’ve been hunting for all over screen printing and you haven’t been having any luck finding people who do it, there’s a good reason for that. Actually we don’t do all over screen printing either. Our all over printing is a dye sublimation process.

Anyone who’s offering all over printing of any quality is doing it dye sub. That’s the only decent way to do it. If you find someone offering all over printing and they’re doing it all over screen printing, then steer clear of them. The process lays down WAY too much ink, so it will make the shirt heavy and odd. Plus, unless you’re doing major quantities and having them “cut and sewn”, meaning the printing happens before the garment gets assembled, they’re all over screen printing on assembled garments. This means there will be heavy deposits of ink in the seams of the garment, where the fabric bumps up a little, the screen will make less contact. With all over printing via dye sublimation, there is no pooling because there is no ink. Dye sublimation actually dyes the color of the threads, embedding the print INTO the garment instead of printing on TOP of it, like with all over screen printing. This creates “handless” (you can’t feel the print), lightweight, colorfast shirts that don’t fade or crack.

The process of dye sublimated all over printing can only happen on microfiber/poly garments, but don’t let that bug you because there have been serious advances in the feel of these fabrics. Modern poly garments are the highest quality in fit and comfort. Popular brands like Affliction, Under Armour and many others use these thin, fashion fit garments.

All over printing is a more expensive process than conventionally printed or screen printed garments. It’s not cost prohibitive though, with an all over front and back shirt costing around $31.50 (S-XL). They command much higher prices at retail though, with shirts of equal quality selling for anywhere from $50-$90, depending on how cool your artwork is.

All over printing is a great new option for people looking to make t-shirts using the most fashion forward techniques. Bands that have all over printing on the t-shirts at their merch booths are guaranteed to get a serious image booth over the guys who don’t. People know how much all over printing costs and they’ll immediately associate quality with this style of garment. Get your all over prints today!

In Love With Our Custom Stage Banners

August 9th, 2008 Tommy

We got an email from a client yesterday. They’re a three piece math rock band from Cleveland and they were starting a 10 city tour from the midwest to the northwest. It was their first major tour, and when they arrived at the first gig, it was clear the rest of the bands booked had a lot more presence and materials than them. They had nothing to dress the stage, no one would know who they were.

They started looking for vinyl banners, but they didn’t expect the multi-hundred dollar price tags they got for professionally produced vinyl banners. They got ahold of us to see if we could help. We set them up with three full color sublimated banners that looked seriously killer. They ordered online and we had the stage banners drop shipped to their next venue, for them to pickup when they arrived. They hung one from each side of the tour PA stacks and hung one up behind their merch booth. It instantly transformed the vibe of their band, they immediately got recognition (12 bands were touring together), people perked up at took notice when they took the stage and they became associated as “One of the headlining acts” of the tour.

People immediately started paying more attention to their merch booth too, which spiked up their tshirt and cd sales, which put more money in the band’s pocket from each gig.

By the end of the letter, the three guys who started out as the unknown underdogs came out on top as one of the centerpieces of the tour, with a new swarm of great fans and bellies full of real food, not gas station sandwiches.

With the myspace discount, the band paid less for all three of our stage banners than for ONE vinyl stage banner, and that wasn’t even FULL COLOR, plus ours are a cloth composite which stores and holds up way better than vinyl, which can crack and wrinkle.

Check them out! You won’t be disappointed. CLICK HERE FOR MORE ABOUT CUSTOM STAGE BANNERS.

Anything You Want On A Tshirt

August 6th, 2008 Tommy

We’re so excited about full color tshirts over here at shirtsforbands.com that we can’t hold it in. We’ve been in the t-shirt industry for years, and it’s always irked us that printing shirts had to be so complex. With all the different t shirt options and ink choice and multiple color problems, we only wanted one thing for our customers, TOTAL CREATIVE FREEDOM to put ANYTHING THEY WANTED ON A TSHIRT with no complex mathematical equations needed to get them a good price.

The team behind ShirtsForBands.com has always been on the cutting edge of digital imaging technologies as they’ve developed over the past decade, but until now there’s never been a reliable, high quality way to reproduce photographic artwork on fabric. That’s all different now, we’ve changed the rules.

Our inks are the ultimate in quality for textile printing, they POP and LAST. We can get brighter yellows, blues and reds than any of our competitors AND we’ll do it for less than they want.

Compare our prices to big name players like cafepress.com and then compare the quality of our TRUE TEXTILE INKS to their low-quality heat transfers (think that wicked Back To The Future tee you had in the 80s) and we blow them out of the water.

Did we mention all our inks and processes are totally eco-friendly? Our production house even RUNS ON WIND POWER and is carbon neutral. Definitely not business as usual.

We’re a small DIY company… a group of friends and fellow musicians, but we’ll put our name up against any of the big brothers out there in the online t shirt world.

Give us a try for your next t-shirt merch order, you won’t be disappointed.
