Hey Everyone!

We’ve gotten a couple letters asking us to explain our new pricing now that we’ve GONE FULL COLOR and we’re more than happy to do that. It’s actually much easier now. Since we removed all the scales and breakpoints that were necessary with multi-color screen printing, now we just have two different pricing schedules, one for light garments, one for dark garments.

Full color tshirts are here! Thanks to bleeding edge tshirt printing technology, we can now offer full color custom tshirts with minimums as low as ONE TSHIRT!

Our shirts aren’t low quality heat transfers like some of the higher priced big players like cafepress.com. Our full color printing is done with the highest quality eco-friendly digital printing plastisol inks. Conventional screen printing using the same ink, but our prints are applied by inkjet technology, instead of the regular old squeegee and screen, drastically reducing the amount of ink required.

This keeps your print “light handed” (which means you can’t feel a heavy layer of ink all over the shirt with your hand). Every shirt off our line comes off exactly the same as the first, colors perfect, and they stay that way for years.

We’re committed to finding sustainable options to use in our operations whenever possible, which is why shirtsforbands.com is the first player in the screen printing industry to offer the OR420 100% Organic Cotton Tee from Anvil as our primary garment option, replacing the lower quality, non-organic Gildan Ultra Cotton.

We personally love these tees, and they line our own closets.

5 oz., preshrunk certified 100% organic cotton tee. shoulder-to-shoulder tape. seamless collarette. double-needle stitching on sleeves and bottom hem. (white and natural are sewn with cotton thread).

If your tshirt isn’t organic, it might be. Most people don’t pay too much attention to America’s most popular fabric, tshirts are our business though, so we’re not most people. We started researching organic options for our garment decoration in 2000. Back then, green was still the realm of the hippies, so major manufacturers were pretty much ignoring organic cotton. Only smaller boutique manufacturers were producing the garments, and while we were all for supporting those smaller outfits, our clients weren’t too hot on paying the (dramatically) increased cost for environmentally sustainable t-shirts. Designing a killer tshirt is a major deal for bands. The humble tshirt wears a lot of hats for a gigging band. Merch is blood, next to the gigs themselves (sometimes), it’s a beefy chunk of a band’s income. Having bad ass tshirts is a necessity. That means a lot of variables. Garment style, color & artwork are all critical points in cost and resale value.
